Starting this year, I’m going to set myself monthly challenges where I have to do something every single day for a month.
My February challenge is going to be no drinking alcohol.
This will be an interesting one for me as I haven’t gone a full month without alcohol in some way since my teen years.
Although I don’t drink as much as I did when I was younger and causing a ruckus, I still enjoy a sip here and there throughout the week. At the end of a big day, a nice scotch or wine is something I look forward too.
So, I’m setting this monthly challenge for a few different reasons.
Firstly, I want to know within myself that I have the willpower to go a month without drinking anything. This is my biggest motivation to be honest. Knowing that I can just say no and mean it will have the biggest impact on me.
Secondly, I want to see the results it has on my health and fitness. I have big goals this year for my health and want to see the effect alcohol, or lack of alcohol, really does have on my body. A month without it will give me a good indication of just how much bloat I get from alcohol and the extra weight I may carry from drinking.
As I tackle these challenges and come up with new ones, I’ll keep posting about them on this site. It will be a way to hold me accountable, but to also hopefully give you some motivation to do something similar.
