I’ve been doing a big clean up of all the apps and subscriptions that I have.
A big part of this clean up has been starting to move to annual payments for the apps or systems that I use.
I’ve always just paid monthly for everything.
The apps seem so much more appealing when you only see the monthly cost of what you pay for them. Once you start to add them up though, it’s a whole different story.
There are two advantages in paying for them upfront annually. Firstly, you generally get a discount by paying annually. Secondly, it makes you really think about whether you use the app and want the app when you have to pay a larger upfront cost.
So in changing to annual, not only am I saving money, but I’m also getting a cleanout of the apps and systems I use because I can’t justify their annual costs.
