Paying for the news

Gone are the days of newspaper subscriptions that were delivered right to your door every morning. I miss these days.

Nowadays, all the papers have gone digital and they can get delivered right to your phone, iPad or computer every morning, or anytime you want it really.

To view the paper, you still have to pay for it. Nothing has changed.

Yet, so many struggle with this.

The argument is often why should you have to pay for news when it’s freely available on the Internet.

It’s true. All the news is available on the Internet. But it comes at a cost.

That cost, is time.

It takes time browsing different sites to view the news and then you hit a paywall where you can’t access an article unless you have a subscription. So they you try a different site and keep doing this for every article you want to read.

Is that being productive?

If you want the news, pay for the best source and accept that it’s a cost to save you time.
