Reaching fitness goals

The main factor involved in reaching a fitness goal, isn’t the training or the dieting, it’s the mindset.

If you don’t have the right mindset, you won’t reach your goal.

For example, and something which I’m sure you’ve seen lots of times…

You see someone lose weight and have great success with it, only to then put it back on rapidly. The problem here is that they focus on losing the weight but then don’t focus on their mindset to be able to keep the weight off.

At the start, they replace the thoughts of food with training and focus on losing weight which gets results but it’s not sustainable long term.

Once they’ve reached their goal and can see results, without the right mindset, their old habits of thinking about food and emotionally eating (or whatever the case may be) creeps back into their lifestyle.

Before they know it, they’re back to eating how they were and putting weight back on. At this point, they lose the motivation and give up on their weight loss goals.

It’s the same with bodybuilders, they will often talk about the mind-muscle connection. When they train, they are connecting the exercise they are doing with the muscle they are focusing on. They want to feel the muscle move and contract to get the most out of the exercise. This is all to do with mindset.

Whatever your fitness goals are, make sure you have the right mindset to achieve them.

Get help if needed to have the right mindset. You pay money for a personal trainer or group classes, so why not pay money for someone to help you with your mindset to sustain the results that you get.
