The Great Outdoors

When was the last time you spent some time outside?

Not outside walking to your car, around the shops or to work.

Time outside in nature doing something.

Camping. Hiking. Fishing.

Most of us take it for granted where we live and what we have around us.

I have spent the past Easter weekend away camping and was reminded of something while sitting around the camp of a night.

I was reminded that I haven’t been taking the time to look up.

It was a clear night and there were so many stars visible. So bright and so beautiful.

But it felt like it had been forever since I had noticed them.

It’s not from a lack of not being visible or not being there.

It’s because I have been too consumed with my life that I haven’t remembered to take the time and appreciate everything around me.

Just looking up at the stars for 15 minutes gave a sense of gratitude for everything that I have in my life and made me reflect on how everything is turning out, even if it’s not exactly how I had thought it would.

It was a great time to reflect. And this my friends is what being in the great outdoors allows so many people to do.

Simply reflect on our lives, what’s going on around us and the people we are surrounded with.
