Your backup is your downfall

Having a backup is a good thing, in most circumstances. But not when you start to rely on it as an excuse.

This is when your backup becomes your downfall.

When things get too hard you start doubting yourself and telling yourself that it is ok because you have a backup.

Instead of exerting yourself to make sure something works or happens, you don’t.

Before you know it, you’ve lost interest, drive and motivation for what you should be focusing and instead start convincing yourself that your backup is the right way forward.

You then settle for your backup and throw away all of the hard work that you’ve already done.

This probably sounds familiar because we have all done this at one time or another. We become the fool though when we continue to let ourselves do this.

Sometimes, you have to throw away your safety net so it doesn’t exist. This leaves you with no other option but to make something work and succeed.
